I am now the proud owner of a white, low back 61C. I read through some old posts and found one that said to look on the bracket that holds the front right burner and, sure enough, I found CW23081 stamped on the bracket. I don't know what it means except that it must be a model C. What year???
How do I clean the logo? It's just the name, in script, attached directly to the back. Is it aluminum? Should it be dull or shiny?
I am on the hunt for a thermobaker. It does not have any of the pots, however my first Chambers from 25 years ago had a thermobaker, so I am quite adept at burning the bottom of the rolls I'm try to warm

if the logo is in script form, it is chromed and if it is the badge, itis cloisnee. both can be cleaned with amonia and a toothbrush and brightened up with a gentle polish. your timer and thermostat knobs are cloisnee, be careful with them, they are fused glass and will chip if you drop them. enjoy your new range !

Congrats!!! I love it when we have new and excited members. I'm not sure about the age of your stove. We are still debating the meaning of the ID tags, and what they tell us. On that tag should be a number that starts off with one digit like 7-1354. The rumor is that the 7 would tell you that it was made in a year that ended in 7. By knowing what style you have you could estimate the year because the stoves were only made during a certain range of dates. I'm remembering this off the top of my head, so don't hold me to it.
Thermobaker - I bought mine from Hugh's Place,

I know they ran out at one time, but they may have found another one since then. Doesn't hurt to try. The cost was $140. I wish I could have found one at a garage sale, but I don't have the patience to wait and look for one.
Pictures, we must have pictures.

Cloisnee? There is no color on the knobs...the outside is white but the face is just ?chrome?
The CW is on one line, the numbers are on the line below without a dash.
I have a picture on my hard drive. I have no clue how to put it into a post.

Do a search on this site - How to Post photos (or pictures). Someone (lowracer, probably - he's good for tech stuff) made a step by step instruction "thread".
Congrats on the stove!!

Here are Lowracer's instructions:
I for one really like to see images posted and lots of 'em. Tell us you got a new oven, that's great, but without a picture we're left to imagine what it must look like. Got a rare accessory and you're having trouble describing it, well post a photo and let the picture do the talking. For newbies to the forums uploading pictures can seem to be a challenge, so I've written it out step by step. Hope this helps!
0) Step ZERO. Every good computer geek always starts out a help file with step zero. For this step, use a digital camera and photo software to create and edit your image. Be sure to make it the right kind of image and the right size. For this board, that is a JPEG (.JPG) formatted picture file, and a size of around 400x300 pixels. Your digital camera probably produces a file around 3000x2000 pixels. Be considerate and cut it down to a manageable size first.
1) Upload the image to get it hosted on the internet somewhere. I will demonstrate by using www.imageshack.us, it's the easiest. You can also use flickr or any other site that lets you upload images.
2) Navigate your browser to http://www.imageshack.us/ Any modern browser will
do. I prefer Firefox.
3) Click on the Browse button.
4) Select the picture from your hard drive that you want to upload.
5) Click on the HOST IT button.
6) After the image uploads, you'll see a new page, down near the bottom of that page is the URL you will need for the next step, it says Direct Link to Image. Copy that URL to the clipboard.
7) Go to hostboard, enter a new topic or reply to a topic to get the editor box.
8) Look just below the editor box you'll see a section with rectangular buttons, in the lower right of that panel of buttons is one marked IMAGE. Click it. You'll get a prompt asking you to enter the URL for your image.
9) Paste the URL you copied in step 5. Click OK.
10) Click the Add New Topic button and you should see your new topic or reply with your image displayed right inside your post.
11) A mistake that many newbies (and old-timers alike) make is to paste in a URL that is not of a PICTURE. Sites like Flickr will often take you to a page that has the image on it, but there's more than the image on the page. There's some text, some website identification, etc., plus the image. You need to make sure that you have the URL for ONLY the image. You can do this by right-clicking (option-clicking on mac) on the image, and selecting View Image. The resulting web page will be ONLY the image, and you can use that URL as described above.
12) Let's see those images!
